With the growing enthusiasm and demand for NVC in India, we at INVCI would like to encourage the creation of a community based on harmony and togetherness. We aspire to share and live the NVC consciousness with a team of dedicated practitioners who are all committed to upholding Marshall’s and CNVC’s vision.
In this light, we invite each of you considering to join this network to connect within and ask yourselves if you resonate with the following guidelines. We are connected to the joy of collaborating and wanting to live by these guidelines, and we trust that each of us will welcome support and reminders for staying on track and living in integrity with our commitments.
We also encourage honesty and transparency, and if at any moment you are feeling uncomfortable with any of the following guidelines, we hope to hear what is keeping you from wholeheartedly agreeing, and we trust that with a clear understanding of unmet needs, we will come to a place of mutual understanding and collaboration.
When sharing NVC, either as a (non-certified) Supporter or as a Certified Trainer, we resonate with the following guidelines:
Fees and Income:
-in order to create togetherness and equality, and to avoid competition, we enjoy being consistent in our fee structure:
- Certified Trainer with general-public audiences: a maximum of Rs.2,500/day
- for Social Change projects: free (some Social Change projects may agree to pay the Trainer’s expenses)
-if and when we have the financial means to do so, to donate a percentage of our annual earnings to a local or national NVC project, in order to support the ongoing development of NVC in India
Local, Regional, and National Networking:
-to participate in the local, regional (if applicable), and national NVC networks
-to work in coordination with other Trainers and Supporters, especially so in our regions, in order to contribute to cooperation, transparency and sharing of information
-to maintain and share lists of participants, with email addresses and/or contact information, in order to support creating a complete database of NVC practitioners in India
-to share training information and / or requests from International Certified Trainers or Supporters to train in India or in our regions (According to the International Trainers’ Agreement, Article 12, International Certified Trainers are asked to consult with local networks before organizing any NVC event abroad.)
-to work in coordination with other Certified Trainers, as we create a pedagogical program to train a new generation of trainers, and in so doing, being willing to ask our participants for written feedback
Prior Training and Ongoing Learning:
-to live, to the best of our ability, the spiritual consciousness of NVC
-to attend at least 5 NVC training days/year
-to explore co-training with other Trainers and/or Supporters, in order to develop our skills and share learning experiences
-to ask for written feedback from participants, for our own growth and development
-to share participants’ feedback with other Trainers and Supporters, as a learning process and for deepening
If not Certified:
-to familiarize ourselves with the Certification Package, available at www.cnvc.org
-to have attended a minimum of 20 NVC training days before starting to share NVC in any formal context
-if and when possible, to attend at least 1 NVC training for Supporters/year, in order to build connection and community
-to seek out a Certified Trainer as a Mentor, while we deepen our NVC consciousness and develop our facilitation skills
The Integrity of the NVC Process:
-to share the NVC process with clarity and not mix non-NVC-related methods in our trainings, in order to preserve and maintain the integrity of the NVC process
-to get permission from specific Trainers, before using any material created by Trainers
If not Certified:
-to refrain from using the term “NVC” and “Nonviolent Communication” in the titles/headings in any of my advertisements or printed material, and to refrain from using the CNVC logo
-to inform our participants that we are not Certified Trainers
Managing Conflict:
-to restore dialogue and connection when I experience conflict within the NVC community, and to ask a Certified Trainer or advanced practitioner for mediation if and when this is not possible
If Certified:
-to give empathy if and when a practitioner mentions being triggered by another Certified Trainer, encourage him/her to speak directly to the concerned Trainer, and/or to inform the concerned Trainer ourselves
Social Change:
-to offer a minimum of 30% of our annual training hours to Social Change projects in India
Commitment to CNVC:
-to comply with CNVC’s International Trainers’ Agreements and/or Guidelines for Non-Certified Supporters (http://cnvc.org/node/6832)
